Albatross Diving Club Reading sent four divers to the Irish Open Championship in Dublin on the 12th/13th November 2016.  The Reading divers performed extremely well bringing home a Gold and Bronze medal.

 

The first event on the Sunday saw Aiden Jones competing in the Novice D Boys event. Aiden dived consistently throughout, with his highest scoring dive his back straight fall from the 3m board, finishing with a points total of 279.90 and the Gold medal.

Zac Cooper and Harry Healey were in the next event,  Novice C boys. Both dived well throughout, with Zac gaining the highest score of 25.5 points for his forward straight fall on 3m to finish in 5th place with a points total of 257.05. Harry went two places better to collect the Bronze medal with a score of 266.05 points.

The final event of the weekend was the Men’s 1m. Albatross Masters diver Matt Pipe was competing against a strong field. In what proved to be a very competitive event, Matt finished in 6th place with a score of 173.90 points, with his back one a half somersaults being his highest scoring dive.
